Simple Beltane Ritual
A more robust Beltane Ritual is available on page 10 of A Year of Recipes and Rituals booklet.
- A small bowl of water
- A stone, crystal, or bowl of earth
- A match
- A candle of any color
May the water be abundant and pure
May the earth be warm and fertile
May the fire in our hearts burn strong
May the air clear all obstacles
May my spirit energize and strengthen me
Arrange the materials as you wish on your altar or other sacred space of your choosing. Begin the actions while saying the blessing, as so:
Dip your finger in the water and say May the water be abundant and pure
Place your wet finger on the stone and say May the earth be warm and fertile
Light the candle with the match and say May the fire in our hearts burn strong
Blow out the match and say May the air clear all obstacles
Place your hand(s) over your heart and say May my spirit energize and strengthen me
Leave the candle burning until it burns down. If you are using a larger candle or do not have a space where you can leave your candle burning safely, snuff the flame and relight with the same intention. Continue to do so until the candle is burned down.
- You can choose to use color correspondences for your candle to energize an aspect or property you would like to work on during this time.
- The blessing is based off of one from Cyndi Brannen. I've augmented and edited it down to fit my ritual practices.
